BTE Portal Registration Instructions

BEFORE YOU REGISTER:

You MUST have a smart phone or tablet with the Google Authenticate app installed
You MUST setup Google Authenticate along with your registration

 

2-Step Verification provides additional security to your data. Google Authenticator stores 2-Step Verification codes that allow you to log into your BTE Web Portal account in a safe and secure way.

 

Here is how to set up your 2-Step Verification with Google Authenticator.

Step 1: Download the Google Authenticator app.

Android device (it must be running Android version 2.1 or later.)

Steps on how to download the app

  1. On your Android phone or tablet, visit Google Play.
  2. Search for Google Authenticator.
  3. Download and install the application.

iPhone, iPod Touch, or iPad (you must have the latest operating system for your device. In addition, in order to set up the app on your iPhone using a QR code, you must have a 3G model or later.)

Steps on how to download the app

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, visit the iTunes App Store.
  2. Search for Google Authenticator.
  3. Download and install the application.

Step 2: Enable 2-Step Verification for your BTE Web Portal account.

Once you have completed step 1, you are now ready to register for your BTE Web Portal account.

You may click the red button on the upper right-hand side of this page or click https://portal.bridgestoexcellence.org/login to begin your registration. 

Click on the “New user” link below the Log in button to begin.

  1. Enter your Name, Email, Password and Phone number.
  2. Click the Register button
  3. Check for an activation email coming from [email protected].  Click the link within the email to verify your account.
  4. The link will take you back to the BTE Web Portal where you will be presented with a QR code and an alpha numeric key.
  5. Open your Google Authenticator app on your phone and select Set Up Account.
  6. Enter the email that you used to register and click on either the QR or manual entry.
  7. Scan the QR code on the screen or enter the alphanumeric key on your phone. Make sure the "Time Based" option is toggled to ON, to ensure the code you're entering is aligned with the Authenticator's most recent passcode generation.

Now, each time you log into the account you've connected with Google Authenticator, the account will ask you to enter a six-digit verification code. Simply open the Google Authenticator app, and the app will generate the new, randomized code for you to enter.
